Book Beginnings: Devil's Kiss - Sarwat Chadda

'Killing him should be easy; he's only six.'

This beginning seems a little bit startling to me. It doesn't look like the protagonist is going to get out to a good start.

I have to say I wonder why they want to kill a six year old.

Any beginnings that've startled you?

    1. After reading the first chapter turns out she's not a psychopath but the kid had been killed 30 years before and was inhabited with an evil spirit. I guess that makes the whole thing make that much more sense!

  3. Yeah, that's pretty scary. Though A Graveyard Book opens up with a man trying to kill an infant child.

    Here's my Book Beginning.

    1. Having just checked that out I can now say it sounds cool :) This book seems to be running on a different concept, although more used, in that the child is some kind of evil undead. I'll Check out your post :)
